The Centre is a non-profit making organisation and is completely dependent upon volunteers. A Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall running of the Centre.
Our story
Originally the Centre was owned and run by Wansbeck District but in 2010 Northumberland County Council announced that the Centre’s funding was to be cut by 75%. This would mean redundancies and the inevitable closure of the Centre. A vigorous campaign against this closure resulted in the formation of a community trust in 2011 which successfully rescued the Centre from disuse.
The Centre is now extensively updated, run solely by volunteers and offers a wide range of facilities ideal for live music, dance and theatre events, family celebrations, classes, meetings and conferences.
